The artist revealed that witnessing Downey Jr.’s courageous transparency about his past drug use catalyzed his journey to seek help. During the late 2000s, Bentley, wrestling with drug addiction, found inspiration and ease in the 58-year-old boldness.

TheYellowstonestar shared his profound gratitude, stating,

“I was in the deepest throes of my addiction and the worst place and at death’s door, I guess, or at risk of it and I saw him be so bold and brave and open and it saved me.”

Motivated by Downey Jr.’s example, Bentley embarked on a path to recovery, recognizing the potential to pass on the same strength and inspiration to others facing similar challenges.

Similar to theIron Manactor, who has been drug-free since 2003, Bentley has openly discussed his addiction struggles. In a 2010 interview with the media, he candidly admitted that between 2002 and 2009, he worked inconsistently solely to fund his drug habit.

However, in 2009, a fateful encounter with an individual who had successfully overcome addiction provided Bentley with newfound hope and guidance.

Reflecting on that key moment,The Hunger Gamesperformer shared,

“I met a guy who had been sober and didn’t know, that I was struggling. He just talked about what a beautiful life he had now.”
