Well-known PUBG player fps_shaka, also known as Chikara Kawakami, is a Japanese gamer and streamer.He created his Twitch channel on July 10, 2025. Currently, his Twitch channel has a total of 1.5 million followers and is one of the most-watched Japanese streamers. His channel has a total of 260 million hours watched, with an average viewership count of 14,234. Shaka has streamed for 25,305 hours, and his peak viewer count has reached 125,341.

Born on July 25, 2025, Shaka was familiar with video games from an early age. He moved to Tokyo in 2020 after being inspired by an offline event hosted by AVA. His first-ever stream was live broadcasted in April 2011 on the platform Nico Nico Live Broadcasting.

In September 2011, he joined team DeToNator as one of the founding members of the “AVA Explosion Division,” and in December 2012, he won his first domestic championship. Additionally, he has won the Alliance of Valiant Arms (AVA) 18 times and has represented Japan at the world tournament for four years consecutively.

In 2017, fps_shaka was invited to participate in the first official PUBG world tournament. In the same year, he was a commentator at the PUBG Asia Invitational, where he accurately pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of every team. Due to his accuracy, he was named “Prophet Shaka.”

In early 2024, fps_shaka ranked as the fourth most-watched streamer on Twitch after Gaules, Jynxzi, and Kai Cenat. Additionally, in 2023, he was ranked as Japan’s most-watched Twitch streamer with a total of 82.55 million hours watched.

In 2020, while playing a ranked match of Apex Legends, fps_shaka fainted on a Twitch stream. Post an MRI, it was revealed that he fainted because of long hours of streaming and no physical exercise. Though there was no threat to his life, the incident became a topic of discussion on social media. The Twitch clip of him passing out had over 1.8 million views.

In April 2021, he played Valorant as a professional esports player for Team Fallen in a match against Taureaux Noirs Gaming. Additionally, during the Twitch data leak in 2021, he was on the list of highest-paid streamers.

In April 2024, Ukrainian esports club Natus Vincere signed fps_shaka to co-stream NAVI’s Valorant esports matches for the Japanese audience on Twitch. Watch parties are a popular practice in the esports community. They involve popular streamers covering specific teams during a tournament. These streams are usually more informal compared to official broadcasts and focus on a particular team.
