But one big problem that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had is the lack of any standalone movies. Sure, all the major releases of the MCU have been a good watch for fans and critics (excluding a few), but this also ends up giving fans only one massive narrative to follow, such as the inevitable battle with Thanos. But Kevin Feige promises much more from now on.

Kevin Feige Promises More Standalone MCU Movies

The DC Universe, which has been rivaling the Marvel Cinematic Universe in many ways and forms has not been as successful as the latter, at least in terms of commercial performance. However, one big benefit of being on the side of the DCU is that you still have standalone movies to enjoy without having to worry about connecting the dots.

This is one huge problem that Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe has to solve soon or else it’ll be milking the “ultimate villain” narrative too far beyond saving (or the “Multiverse Saga” as it is called). A variety of stories is nice to have, and not having to look back into other movies to understand the next one would end up making fans of the MCU really happy.

Kevin Feige Reassures That Multiverse Narrative Will Be Given Importance

The prospect of more standalone movies in the future forKevin Feige‘s Marvel Cinematic Universe is truly an exciting one for fans of the billion-dollar media franchise.

But this does not mean that it will be the end of the multiverse narrative that the MCU has spent more than a decade building from the ground up to what it is now- a massive universe connected to one another.

During the premiere ofAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the 49-year-old producer made it clear that the multiverse-centric narrative will still be the main focus-

“But [the MCU] really, as you will certainly see in Quantumania, is heading toward the really, really big picture, and that big picture is the Multiverse Saga.”

It seems like the MCU is going to take this story all the way to the end, no matter how long it takes to reach there. Until then, fans will have to stick to the plans that Kevin Feige has set out for their beloved franchise.
