Now thatGTA 6(or the nextGrand Theft Auto) is finally coming to us, there are a few questions about Rockstar’s next big game. And one of those is obviously around the game’s title. Seriously, what’s it even going to be called?

GTA next game name

We askedReddit’sopinion on this, and the answers are hilarious. We won’t be surprised if the devs see this and chuckle in their offices given how dumb, clever, and everything in between some of these responses are.

There’s a Lot More Than ‘GTA 6’ People Are Coming Up With

Remember how we got the DLC toGTA V? No right? We got a lot ofGTA Onlineupdates instead. To be the devil’s advocate, we did get quite a fewGTA Vremasters. In fact, every generation from the PS3 and Xbox 360 onwards of consoles received one.

One of the top comments trolled us with the same.

Because the next gta is GTA V Remastered Expansive Edition, sorry guys.

Seriously though, how would the community react if it was yet anotherGrand Theft Auto V. Maybe Rockstar will just do it to troll us. Other commenters are a little nicer about it. Some suggested that ‘Americas‘ might just make a comeback, but many said how the nextGTAcould potentially bring back ‘Vice City‘, even in its title!

GTA Fast and Furious

However, this was shortly countered by a more logical comment that kind of killed the fun.

They will call the game GTA 6 when it’s officially announced, as in logo reveal, which will happen real soon. Don’t expect GTA VIce or any of that stuff

Jokes apart, some comments got us thinking. There’s a chance the nextGTAis a complete overhaul and becomes a live-service model in and out. After all, some leaks did suggest that the map will keep adding locations, and single-player gameplay might affect online play, and vice versa.

And suddenly it will come out that it’s just “Grand Theft Auto” made as a service, that will have a single-player module expanded over time, and multiplayer with some variation of seasonal gameplay. And it will work for yeeeeeeaaaaaaars.

Many comments simply suggested a classicGTA VIorGTA 6, which obviously found their share of love, but knowing how unpredictable Rockstar can be sometimes, it won’t be surprising to see a complete shift or overhaul.

So, Why Has Rockstar Kept the Next GTA’s Name a Secret?

Some of the comments speculate that Rockstar is following its classic tradition of keeping the ‘secrecy‘ brand intact. After all, they’ve not said a single word about ‘VI’ or ‘6’ anytime they mentioned working on the game in the last few years.

One of the comments pretty much sums it up:

I think the reason why rockstar doesn’t say the word ‘VI’ is because they want everyone to be more hyped.

Even if we see a bring-back-to-life phenomenon with the nextGrand Theft Autoin the context ofVice CityorSan Andreas, it’s unlikely that Rockstar will include the name in the title. Simply becauseVice City Storiesis a thing already, and Los Santos pretty much brought San Andreas back to the limelight.

In anotherRedditpost, a comment made a calculated suggestion as to why the next game will be calledGTA 6:

I also thought this. Seems very specific wording. I 100% think that this next game is GTA6, it’s just about whether they stick to numbering the main games. Seems like it could have a new title format. Seems like an odd comparison, but when Fortnite Season 10 was coming to an end, they started referring to Season 11 as “The next Fortnite Season”, rather than just “Season 11”.Sure enough, it wasn’t called Season 11 when it was released. It was Chapter 2 – Season 1. Corporate speak saved them from either lying about the name, or spoiling it.

Between corporate legalities and safe assumptions, it’s likely that the next title will indeed have a ‘6‘ in it, despite all the out-of-the-box and absurd guesses some of us have been making all this while.
