Tom Hardyadored canines to such an extent that he would bring one as his companion to the premiere of Legend, a gangster movie where he portrayed identical twins Reggie and Ronnie Kray.
A yellow lab mix named Woodstock, lovingly nicknamed Woody had the privilege of being his date. Woody was no ordinary dog either he had his claim to fame, having been featured in a PETA campaign alongside his beloved adopted father.
TheInceptionstar’s devotion to his furry companions was unwavering. He not only brought them to movie sets and red carpets but also spoke about them at length, openly admitting his preference for animals over humans. He explained,
“I’m the finder of dogs, you know what I mean. My missus, she’s like, You’re not allowed to bring another dog back from a job. But I’ll always find one. On every job we go on, I’ll either find someone’s dog and look after it, or I’ll take my dog, or I find a dog and we home it.”
During the filming ofLawlessin Atlanta, Hardy stumbled upon Woody wandering along a highway. Unable to resist the urge to rescue the canine, he brought him back to London.
Despite his wife’s objections, he continued to find dogs on every job, either taking care of someone else’s or providing a loving home to a newfound furry friend.

Tragically, Max’s passing in 2011 left a deep void in Hardy’s heart. To honor his beloved pet, the actor chose to cremate Max and kept his ashes on the sofa, where the dog had enjoyed countless moments of companionship. He shared,
“Max was my support unit, it’s like I had a focus; I had an identity and higher self-esteem because something relied on me and loved me constantly. Then I felt important. I can’t stand that kind that fights their dogs.”
