TheMission Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part Onedid receive a major insurance payout which is supposed to fill the gap of loss that was created at the box office. According toCollider, the production house of the film, Paramount received a massive amountof $71 million from a Swiss insurance company, Chubb. The lawsuit was filed becauseMission Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part Onehad to go through production interruptions caused by COVID-19 and that made the production cost higher than expected.

Paramount originally received a payment of $5.5 million but after filing the lawsuit it did increase the sum of the payout to a massive amount. There is no denying that no other franchise exceptMission Impossiblewas affected more due to COVID-19. It has been also reported that due to production interruptions, the cost of the film went up to $291 million making it one of the most expensive films of all time.
