Tom Cruise’sMission: ImpossibleSeries Is Unlike The DC Universe And Its Fanbase
ThoughTom Cruise‘sMission: Impossiblefranchise is running strong with back-to-back successful movies as well as the upcoming release ofMission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, this wasn’t always the case. Fans Talk About Tom Cruise’sMission: ImpossibleDoing What TheSnyderverseCouldn’t
During a discussion on this subject on Twitter, fans put forth an interesting comparison. One fan thought about what it would have been like ifMission: Impossible 2got the same treatment that Zack Snyder’sBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicereceived after its poor audience performance. The DCU movie’s underwhelming performance, along with other major factors, led to the cancelation of theSnyderverseentirely. Some fans added that they are glad that the fandom ofMission: Impossibledid not completely dismiss the franchise after one failure like fans of the DCU and instead, continued to watch as the movies kept getting better and better.
Imagine if MI franchise got the Snyderverse , BVS treatment after this second movie , we wouldn’t have seen any MI film after this onehttps://t.co/bVknpQhGwB

I see your pointTom was smart tho mi2 didn’t take off and they took a 6 year break mi3 also wasn’t a massive hit so it took another 5 years off before ghost protocol came in and the franchise just took off.
It’s also easier for him to do since he basically owns the MI rights

DC just wussed out, they didn’t want to take the biggest risks and it payed off terriblly, Im sure they wouldve been in a better situation if they kept going but, im stil excited for james vision

They did. They kept Cruise, ditched whatever the hell 2 was and tried again 6 years later with JJ Abrams directing 3 and producing 4. They became tighter and far less sloppy. Basically think Batfleck in The Batman instead of Pattinson.

You do realise MI3 has a different director than MI2

It’s the audience score that’s surprisingly shocking. There’s no way that many people hated this movie.

Though the franchise did wait for six years before putting out another movie afterMission: Impossible 2, fans were glad that the Tom Cruise franchise did not suffer the same fate that theSnyderversedid due to the audience’s dislike of one movie in a multi-movie series. The movie also had a different director, J.J. Abrams, which was mentioned by some fans who were glad the series took that route as the movies had a completely different feeling after that.
