Rami Malek had an awkward encounter with actress Nicole Kidman at the Golden Globe award event, which went viral on social media. It showed Kidman snubing the actor Malek on the stage of the award show.

Rami Malek was snubbed by Nicole Kidman?
The unforgettable and uncomfortable moment happened at The Golden Globe Awards. It occurred after Rami Malek won Best Actor for his portrayal of legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. The film also won the Best Film award, hence Malek had to return to the stage with the cast and crew. As he got on stage, cast members were already mingling with the presenter Nicole Kidman.
Oppenheimeractor went ahead to say hello to Kidman, but she turned her head away from him. He tried talking to her again, but again, her back was towards him. Hence, Malek put his hand on her back to catch her attention, however, the actress did not turn and carried on with her conversation with other cast members.
The press termed the encounter as the moment of snub. The fans of the actress were shocked to see such behavior towards Rami Malek.
However, according to both Malek and Kidman, reality was in contrast to what appeared on the stage.

Rami Malek and Nicole Kidman cleared the misunderstanding about the snub moment
Rami Malek talked about the incident with Nicole Kidman onJimmy Kimmel Live!Malek shared he was not snubbed by the actress, and they have been good friends for many years. He shared,
“I’ve known her for many years, despite as it may seem from that video. So, I thought I could easily go up and say ‘hi!’. But in a moment like that…”
“Very awkward. I have a feeling like this will be haunting me.”
Jimmy Kimmel agreed with him,
“Yeah, this is going to be around for a little while.”
In a conversation withEntertainment Tonight,Nicole Kidmanshared that she was mortified when she heard about the viral moment. She said she didn’t see him on the stage or feel his hand on her back. She said such incidents happen amidst the clapping, several people on the stage, the blinding lights, and the thrill of the moment. She said,
“I love that man. He’s so gentle and softly spoken.”
After the incident, she andRami Malekalso exchanged e-mails. She recalled in an interview withVanity Fair,
“He sent me an e-mail. I sent him an e-mail. We were laughing, actually. We were both in a bit of a daze.”
The incident seemed a bit mean on Nicole Kidman’s part, however, it was a simple case of misunderstanding between the stars.
