It was the best-performing film from the fourth phase of the franchise and the hype after its release is something seen very few times when it comes to any project in all of cinema. The reasons for this were many, the biggest being the return of some of the most adored people to grace the screen of this franchise.
It is because of just how famous and well-received this film was, that the buzz around it right now is extremely odd. Fans on Twitter have started to notice some things that were looked over before, causing them to completely change the way they feel about this film.

The feelings surrounding one of the most well-doingSpider-Manfilms,Tom Holland’sSpider-Man: No Way Home,have completely switched, with fans having completely polar opposite opinions about how good this movie was. This all started when one Twitter user,PunishedBen,put forth four random pictures from the film, which made them realize, as they put it, that it was one of the ugliest movies ever made. While this might be too big a statement, many were quick to follow, adding that they had similar feelings about this, nearly 2 years after its initial release.
The consensus and reason for these feelings was the fact that they believed the design, and specifically the visual effects of the film were horrible. This is no surprise, considering this was one of the biggest critics of the MCU at the time, though this film managed to come out just before it started. Its poor CGI would have flown under the radar due to just how many ‘shocking’ scenes were in this film, which helped distract from its flaws.

The reactions to this post were mixed. Some stated that one of the reasons why it looked as bad as it did, was because it had too many unnecessary greenscreen shots. While this may be true, one user pointed out that it is important to note that the reason for these shorts was the fact that it was shot in the middle of the pandemic. Someone compared its CGI to that of commercials, comparing it to that of the floating kid CGI fromThor: Love and Thunder,which was heavily criticized.

Some added that despite the circumstances, with the budget that the film had, that being $200 million, there is no excuse for it to look the way that it did. Some, however, did not get the point of this, saying that they thought it ridiculous for someone to criticize this movie the way these people are. One individual stated that while the visuals of this film may not be meeting, the standards Marvel has set, it is important to keep in mind that the reason this film became as famous as it did was because of its story, characters, and the fan service that it was doing.
