British author J.K. Rowling has been under fire for making controversial comments about the trans community. While Rowling believed that she was voicing her opinion to the world, it resulted in massive backlash for the author. J.K. Rowling Was Already Aware of the Backlash
During the recent episode ofThe Witch Trials of J.K. Rowlingpodcast, theHarry Potterauthor once again stirred up controversy. She claimed that she was already aware of the possible outcomes of sharing her views on gender and trans rights.
J.K. Rowlingclaimed that she had an idea that she andHarry Potterfans, who do not hold the same opinion as her,“would be deeply unhappy with [her].”Despite the overwhelming backlash, the best-selling author claims there were still fans who were supportive and grateful to her.

“But at the same time, I have to tell you, a ton of Potter fans were still with me. And in fact, a ton of Potter fans were grateful that I’d said what I said.”
The Ickabogauthor shared that she knew her comments would act like a “hand grenade,”but she still holds the same opinion.The Ink Black Heartauthor also shared that although she is scared at times, she would stand by her words and would continue to argue the same.

J.K. Rowling Claims She Has Been Scared For Her Safety
J.K. Rowling also claimed that it was not a fun journey for her as she feared for herself and her family due to the massive backlash following her comments about the transgender community. However, she still stands by her views, as she stated,
“Time will tell whether I’ve got this wrong. I can only say that I’ve thought about it deeply and hard and long, and I’ve listened.”

The Troubled Bloodauthor also shared that she even went against her management team and told them that they could not“argue [her] out of this.”Shealso recalled the tweet that started the whole controversy.Rowling shared that she was“angry”and “flippant” after she came around an article“on the background of what I see as huge injustice and people trying to shut women down.”
Rowling also shared that she did not want to upset anyone with her comments and only wanted to put out a required warning for people. She also stated that she sees the whole thing as a“powerful, insidious, misogynistic movement”that has reached very influential areas of society.
