Even though there are a lot of ups when a person gains fame in the entertainment industry, we simply cannot overlook the downs that come along for the ride. While a life of luxury might make everything seem worth it, constantly getting mobbed by fans and having no privacy to yourself can be a major problem. Well, that’s what seems to have happened with Emma Watson.
It goes without saying that Emma Watson is one of the most loved celebrities of today. Everyone is basically simping for the actress. Therefore, when Emma Watson is out and about, it’s difficult for her to not get recognized and most of the credit for that goes to her time playing Hermione Granger inHarry Potter.In order to protect her privacy, Emma Watson does not allow fans to take photographs with her, however, she does have an exception.

It’s not always easy being a celebrity, especially if you have been a part of a truly magical franchise that has fans worldwide.Emma Watson, who pays a hefty sum to her bodyguard, talked to Vanity Fair about the steps she has taken to ensure that she leads a fairly private life, despite the amount of fame she has. She told the outlet that she does not let fans click pictures with her or of her because of safety issues. She gave the reason that if the fan posts the photo almost immediately, everyone would know where she is and what she is doing, which could be a potential threat to her safety and privacy.
“For me, it’s the difference between being able to have a life and not. If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters. They can see what I’m wearing and who I’m with. I just can’t give that tracking data.”
However, she does have an exception to the rule. If children want to take a picture with their favorite witch from Hogwarts, she allows them to do so. As for her older fans, while they can’t take pictures with the actress, she is willing to offer them her time, instead.
“I’ll say, ‘I will sit here and answer every single Harry Potter fandom question you have but I just can’t do a picture.’ I have to carefully pick and choose my moment to interact. When am I a celebrity sighting versus when am I going to make someone’s freakin’ week? Children I don’t say no to, for example.”
It looks like her steps have ensured that she gets to lead a private life in Hollywood, which is rare in the industry. What do you think about the action Watson has taken?

Why Emma Watson Prefers a Private Life
Talking to E! News, Watson stated that what happened to her and her co-stars,Daniel RadcliffeandRupert Grint, was nothing short of fantasy in itself. Getting cast in such a big franchise and shooting up to fame is not something a lot of celebrities can boast about. However, Watson talked about the drawbacks that are attached to fame. She stated that since her life has become something people are so interested in, it is all the more reason for her to take steps to maintain her privacy. She wants people to be able to differentiate between Hermione, a fictional character, and herself, a very real person.
“It’s one of the things that I struggle with, because the three of us—Dan, Rupert, and I—were kids when we got cast in this fairy-tale series, and what happened to us was kind of a fantasy story in itself. Outside of the movies. So the story of my life has been of public interest, which is why I’ve been so passionate about having a private identity. When I step into a character, people have to be able to suspend their disbelief; they have to be able to divorce me from that girl.”
She also stated that staying n her own little bubble, out of the eyes of people, makes it a lot easier for her to focus on her work and do her very best. Well, everyone has a right to privacy, after all!
