Hiromu Arakawa and Hajime Isayama joined together for an interview in the July issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. Both authors engaged in some really intriguing conversations regarding their respective works.
Both of these creators don’t require an introduction and they dominated the decade they debuted their respective series in. There is a bit of overlap between the popularity ofAttack on TitanandFullmetal Alchemist.
Both of these series also have some similarities from the perspective of their writing as Arakawa and Isayama found it extremely challenging to write a suitable conclusion for their series which would please the fans without compromising the premise of their work.

While having a conversation with Hajime Isayama, the Mangaka ofAttack on Titan, both of these series in question share similarities as it was a real challenge for the authors to wrap up their stories.

Roy Mustang’s fate is doomed by darkness when he is forced to open the Gate of Truth through Human Transmutation as a part of the villainous Homunculi’s plot. Similar to what Ed and Al faced, Roy loses a part of himself, his eyesight. For a character with such massive vision and ambition, he loses his eyesight.
Philosopher’s Stone was created by an alchemist named Dr. Marcoh. He proposes an offer to rejuvenate Roy’s eyesight with the help of the stone. However, he wanted to atone for his part in the Ishvalan extermination.
Since Roy was determined and dedicated to helping the Ishvalans, Dr. Marcoh wanted the Colonel to do his best. His blindness was a clear punishment for his crimes, asFullmetal Alchemistdoesn’t believe in suffering for the sake of suffering.
