The Marvelsmid-credits explained
After battling with Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton), the trio of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau have to find a way to close the jump point before the solar system’s sun is siphoned away. They realize that they have to team up and use their powers together, but it requires Monica to sacrifice herself, as closing the jump point ends with her being trapped on the other side with no way to return. Carol and Kamala go home to Earth, where they plan to wait in the hopes that Monica is able to return.
In the mid-credits scene, Monica wakes up in an infirmary confused. She is startled to find her mom, Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) by her side — who had died of cancer during the events of the Infinity Saga’s blip, while Monica was one of the unlucky few to fade away. However, Monica is shocked to find out that her mother does not recognize her.

The bigger surprise, though — at least for the audience — is that Monica is being treated by none other than Beast, played by Kelsey Grammer, reprising his role from the 2000sX-Menmovies. Maria also is donning a superhero costume. It is revealed that Monica has been transported to an alternate reality.
This mid-credits scene could have profound implications for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only does it introduce moreX-Mencharacters into the MCU — after Patrick Stewart’s Professor X inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness— but it also sets the stage for us to see even more variations of Captain Marvel in future sequels and series. It will be interesting to see how the franchise continues down this path, especially considering the (planned, but likely to be delayed) release ofDeadpool 3next year, which is to become the first officialX-Menproject in the MCU.

As a reminder, there is no post-credits scene inThe Marvels, but there is a brief audio stinger of the Flerkens.
