A Masterful Remake: Brothers A Tale of Two Sons Announced at The Game Awards
Brothers A Tale of Two Sonstakes the stage at The Game Awards 2023. A surprising announcement for the decade-old indie title. The remake will be published by 505 Games, the same team that published the original. Starbreeze Studios, the original developers, are sadly not returning to re-polishBrothers A Tale of Two Sons.
Instead, Avantgarden SRL is heading the project. It previously worked onMurasaki BabyandLast Day of June, two puzzle games that were released in 2014 and 2017, respectively. They may not be the originalBrothers A Tale of Two Sonsdevelopers, but they sure know their way around puzzle games.
In the trailer, we get a sneak peek at the amazing new visuals forBrothers A Tale of Two Sons Remake.From the character models to the environments, everything is so sharp and vibrant. This kind of visual fidelity would not be possible on the Xbox 360.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remakewill also have a re-recorded soundtrack with a live orchestra, making the emotional moments in the story hit ten times harder. Play as both brothers in a solo experience or play with a friend in this puzzle adventure remake. The Game Awards 2023 world premier trailer ends with a July 01, 2025 date, coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Brothers A Tale of Two Sons Remake: Where It Started
The Game Awards’ first announcement is no stranger to the gaming community. If you were around in 2013, you would remember thatBrothers: A Tale of Two Sonswas critically acclaimed and loved by many when it came out. Notably, the game received Best Xbox Game at 2013’s Spike Video Game Awards.
It’s about two brothers who go on an adventure to save their ill father. On this quest, they come across many different characters who have their own stories to tell. This journey was emotional and left an impact on many players.
Since its 2013 release, it has been ported over to other platforms such as the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The director, Josef Fares, moved on to createA Way OutandIt Takes Two,which are both multiplayer-required experiences.It Takes Twowould sweep several categories at The Game Awards 2021, including Best Family Game and Game of the Year.
