Guardians of the Galaxy

Well after this ending,James Gunnwas confused as to how he will take forward the story of Thor with Guardians. As he didn’t have any plans to include the God of Thunder in the upcomingGuardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.  That’s when Thor director Taika Waititi came into the picture and helped him out. The idea of what to do next was then revealed by Marvel Boss Kevin Feige to Gunn.

“That’s when [Marvel Studios president] Kevin [Feige] told me Taika’s gonna do ‘Thor,’ and we’ll have the Guardians in it. I said, ‘Thank God!’… To be completely honest, Thor was never going to be in this movie. Taika took a bullet for me. Because I was not going to have him in. I was just gonna start up and there’s no Thor.”

Taika Waititi Clears Confusion Around Guardians inThor 4

Taika Waititimade sure to maintain the continuity between the two films i.eThor LoveandThunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He kept the Guardians in the first half of the movie and set them free for their upcoming final sequel. In a past interview, Waititi explained why he didn’t let Guardians back at the end of the sequel and let them go in the first part.

“The plan was always to have them in the beginning and then move on. Because they have their own movie. There was talk about having them come back at the end. The thing is that happens in every movie. No more. No more of the cavalry coming at the end. So we shelved that idea. We just wanted Jane to come in at the end.”
