Summer Game Fest MW2 gameplay reveals new weapons, equipment & features

The Summer Game Fest 2022 got off to a hot start after revealing more Modern Warfare 2 gameplay footage starring iconic Call of Duty characters, John ‘Soap’ MacTavish & Ghost.

Infinity Ward are preparing to launch one of itsmost ambitious titles in MW2, which will bring a brand-new game engine to the fold while also taking reimagining legendary characters from the prior games in the franchise.

The studio showed offModern Warfare 2’scampaign with the first look at the Dark Water mission, which moves from an oil platform to a moving ship as players pursue a weapon as Captain Soap MacTavish.

The footage showcased the returning ability to mount weapons, pick up utility-like Molotov cocktails from the ground, and work with Task Force 141 characters including Simon “Ghost” Riley.

All new water tech will lend itself to giving the gameplay a dynamic feel by physically affecting how players move across a mission, as showcase during a high speed boat chase toward the end of the demo, and with shipping containers being thrown from side to side.

What’s more,Modern Warfare 2andWarzone 2.0are going to run on the same engine and the battle royale will “be an extension of the MW2 universe.”
