Are you a fan of Capcom? Do you like games inspired by mech-centric anime? How about games that throw thousands of dinosaurs at you and your friends? Well have we got good news for you! Capcom have released their latest game,Exoprimal,on consoles, PC and direct to Xbox Game Pass today!

Exoprimal

It has been a good long while since our last decent dinosaur game from Capcom, one which we’ve been begging to be remade/remastered inDino Crisis, but until that happens, we now haveExoprimalto tide us over.

Exoprimal Kills

Set in the year 2040,Exoprimalcentres around the sudden and unexplained reappearance of dinosaurs across the globe, throwing the status quo into disarray and threatening humanity’s survival and existence as we know it.

As with any future dystopia, there’s a company available to ‘help’. InExoprimalit’s the powerful Aibius Corp, who deploy their next-generation artificial intelligence titled Leviathan. If you’ve watched any of the trailers Capcom have dropped in the run up to release, you’ll know that there is more going on with Leviathan than first meets the eye. However, the AI is used to predict where the dinosaur outbreaks will occur, and then send mechanised ‘Exofighters’ to combat the problem.

Exoprimal

That’s just scratching the surface of the story that Capcom have crafted in this universe, but it should be known that the story will be taking a backseat to what the game actually is. An always-online, PvP multiplayer game, with a narrative thrown in for good measure. In the game’s main mode ‘Dino Survival’, two teams of five Exofighters will be competing to complete various objectives before their opponents, whilst simultaneously fighting off swarms of dinosaurs of various size and shape.

On some occasions the game will launch a particular kingly threat that’ll require the teams to work together to take down, but don’t forget that they’re your enemy, first and foremost. With the progression of Dino Survival comes the standard multiplayer fare, with new suits, gear, cosmetic items and narrative content available to be unlocked, with story missions, cutscenes and ‘lost data’ pushing the story forward as you progress through the online ranks.
