Classic Games updated for the PS5, why does there seem to be an issue? They always seem to be behind the times with making backwards compatible games up to standard for current gen consoles. Sure there are several PS4 games which run at 60FPS but it’s the ones that really NEED it, that seem to be have been left by the wayside.

If you look at Xbox, there doesn’t seem to be that much of an issue with backwards compatibility and they have several games which have been improved with enhanced HDR and framerates.

And for some fans, there’s nothing better than experiencing that classic game you love in an updated format. So why is it that publishers such as Sony seem to be so against improving some of these titles that are crying out for a modern day update?

I mean who wouldn’t love to see titles such asBloodbornein glorious 60FPS? As it stands, the game still plays at 30FPS even when played on the PS5. So why can’t they just get the finger out and give us what we want?

What PS5 titles have got updates?

Well thankfully there is a talented bunch of developers that have stepped up and put the gaming gods to shame. A band of talented indie developers and modders have taken it upon themselves to right the wrongs, albeit on an unofficial status.

It was reported recently that one of the games that has benefited from a 60FPS isCrash Team Racingwhich is from modder Illusion. And given that it’s a fast paced racing game, it’s no surprise that this game is one that has seen the benefits of such a boost.

And you may have have heard of Illusions other work, as they recently patched bothBloodborne,Red Dead Redemption 2andThe Order: 1886,  to 60PFS for the current Sony home console, albeit unofficially.

This may be more telling with the recent news thatRed Dead Redemptionwill be a straight port and will not be a remake or remaster. So fans can be treated to a standard 30FPS, great. How long before Illusion take the initiative and patch this one as well?

Obviously we would like Sony or Rockstar to actually take it upon themselves to release official updates for the games we’ve mentioned but when that will be, no-one really knows. We here at FW would love to see Bloodborne in glorious 60FPS as it’s one of those games that really pushed the PS4 to its limits.

But what’s your thoughts on the latest news for PS5? Are there any games that you are still waiting to get 60FPS? And what do you think of the games that Illusion have patched so far? Get in touch, drop us a comment and let us know your thoughts.
