Similar to the previous installment,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2has its fair share of easter eggs. These can be either name-drops of iconic locations and superheroes or subtle references to the original character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko for Marvel Comics.

The iconic meme in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 originated from 1967 animated series titled Spider-Man.

Gamers got their first taste of Spider-Man 2 on July 11, 2025. Since then, they have spotted numerous easter eggs and shared them on social media. Here are some of the references that you may have missed inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.

1The Pointing Spider-Man Meme

Starting with the most famous easter egg, the pointing meme is unlocked once players complete the first few missions in the game. Both Miles Morales and Peter Parker need to be on the scene. Simply press the ‘triangle’ button on the PS5 controller to have a random chance of making both game characters point at each other, similar to ABC’s animated Spider-Man series.

Carnage is a primary antagonist in the Spider-Man franchise. Even though the red symbiote hasn’t been featured in any game, Insomniac has given a teaser about its entry.

Forever Suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The Crimson Hour side quest inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2requires players to take down a cult. In one of the missions, players can check a book that tells them about a prophecy about the Crimson Hour while a monstrous form of Carnage is depicted on the sides of the pages.

Flame even forewarns during the mission that ‘Carnage’ will be unleashed upon the world.

3Into The Spider-Verse

42 Spider Bots are scattered all across New York City. Each contains a reference to a character from Marvel Comics, specifically from the Spider-Man universe. Collecting each of them leads to an interesting cut scene that features Delilah from theSpider-Versemovies and the game also name-drops Miguel O’Hara, popularly known as Spider-Man 2099 in theSpider-Verse.

4Wakanda Forever

While standing in front of the Wakandan Embassy, switch to Miles Morales. You will then see the character do a ‘Wakanda Forever’ gesture with his arms. This isn’t the only reference that connectsMarvel’s Spider-Man 2to Chadwick Boseman’sBlack Panther, though.

One of the story missions features Peter Parker spotting elephant tusks and mentioning how they were bought from Wakanda. Additionally, once players get to level 25, they will unlock the super awesome ‘Forever Suit’ that is inspired by Black Panther designs.

5Daredevil Easter Eggs inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2

A part of the previous installments of the game, Daredevil has been referenced multiple times inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. The best one can be found in Hell’s Kitchen. Marvel Comic fans will remember how Matt Murdock had his own law office at the location.

A plaque on one of the buildings at Hell’s Kitchen reads ‘Nelson and Murdock Attorneys at Law.‘ On the side, players can see an eviction notice on pink paper, hinting that Daredevil and his friend had to relocate elsewhere but may return after some time.

Another Daredevil reference is when Peter Parker says, “I could ask some lawyer friends with visitation rights” following the completion of the mission. The lawyer friend could be the fellow Marvel superhero clad in a red suit.

6The Spacebound Science Trophy

Those who playedMarvel’s Spider-Manmay remember how Phil unfortunately died at the end of the game. Paying homage to his friendship with Miles Morales is an easter egg that can be found on the roof of the Trinity Church. The Spacebound Science Trophy was a collectible in the previous game but now is only a memory of their bond.

You can also see Rick Mason and Phil Mason’s graves in the Harlem Cemetry. They are both buried together but hidden from plain sight. A bit of exploration may lead you towards Morale’s friend inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.

7Madripoor & The X-Men

Madripoor is a place that is synonymous with Wolverine fromX-Men. Modern-day Marvel fans may remember it as the island where theFalcon and the Winter Soldierseries was based.

During the ‘Bad Guys On The Block’ main story mission. Madripoor is mentioned in a file detailing the life of Dr. Farley Stillwell. The Trask industries, the industry responsible for creating Sentinels, are simultaneously mentioned in the article.

8Signed By Hank Pym

While checking Peter Parker’s shelf, shift your gaze towards the wall. You will find a ‘Pym Science Summer Camp 2003 Pioneer Award’ which has Hank Pym’s signature at the bottom. Marvel fans may know that Pym is a recurring character in the Ant-Man comics.

9Captain America & Fantastic Four Easter Eggs

Steve Roger has the ability to use his Shield as a hybrid frisbee-boomerang. While citizens of New York inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2cannot copy the boomerang aspect, they were able to play frisbee which had a similar design to Captain America’s shield. This scene can be found in a side mission that requires Peter Parker to access the day-to-day behavior of citizens.

Apart from theAvengers, theFantastic Fourseem to be also a part of the Spider-Man game universe. The upper-east corner of Hell’s Kitchen has a building on the top of which has a helipad, whose landing logo is that of the Fantastic Four symbol.

10Superior Spider-Man

While visiting Aunt May’s home, note the books kept on the top of the chimney. One of these reads ‘The Superior Powers: A Geopolitical Analysis of Superheroics’ and the word ‘Superior’ is highlighted in red. It is a throwback to the Superior Spider-Man comic book series published in 2014.
