The DC Universe is in shambles and actor Zachary Levi seems to be just adding to the mess. With everything that has been going on with the new regime, the new slate, Henry Cavill, and so on, the DCU is in dire need of a win. However, it looks like one of its actors is in no mood to stop the controversies from coming as Zachary Levi once again puts DCU in a predicament with his social media.
It was not long ago when Zachary Levi faced the wrath of the Internet when he decided to tweet against Pfizer, a pharmaceutical giant. You would think that with his movie coming out so soon, Zachary Levi would want to play it safe. Well, that’s not the case as another one of his posts sends the Internet into a frenzy as the post was directed to none other than the iconic, Britney Spears.

Britney Spearsreceived a lot of support from her fans who were very vocal on social media to help end her conservatorship. The involuntary conservatorship was set up byJamie Spears, her father, back in 2008. The conservatorship happened because of the singer’s mental health however, it has since been overturned in 2021.
Ever since then, Spears has been a woman working on her own terms. While her social media posts have raised a few eyebrows, fans are quite happy and supportive of Spears, for the most part. However,Zachary Leviseems to be one of those who have raised eyebrows at Spears’ content as he seemingly mocked it on his Instagram. TheShazam!actor reposted a satire article from Razzle Dangerously News on his Instagram story. The article’s headline read,“Millions Who Hashtagged ‘FreeBritney’ Starting to Change Their Opinions on Conservatorships.”
Well, that was enough for social media to explode. Twitter, as well as his Instagram comment section, is flooding with support for Spears. Along with the support for the singer, there is also quite a lot of hate, mockery, and trolling toward Levi. Fans are calling him out for downplaying and making fun of Spears’ issues. Levi will soon be seen playing Shazam/Billy Batson in the upcomingShazam! Fury of the Godsonce again. Since things have not been going quite well for the DCU with the ongoing changes, the fun, light-hearted superhero could be just what everyone needed. However, with the current Spears controversy and the previous controversy with Pfizer, Levi might be setting upShazam 2for failure.
It does not take long for fans to boycott an actor because of their personal choices (Read: Will Smith). If that happens withShazam 2owing to Levi’s social media posts, DCU sure is in for a treat! A win has become a necessity for the superhero universe and there are a lot of hopes onShazam 2’s shoulders to deliver that win. But will the lead actor’s controversies end up proving to be a negative for the sequel? Only time will tell!
