Jujutsu Kaisenis an action-packed dark fantasy manga and anime series that has enraptured the hearts of numerous fan. This famed anime story show the journey of a high school student Yuji Itadori who becomes a Jujutsu sorcerer after swallowing a cursed finger of the legendary demon Ryomen Sukuna.

Jujutsu Kaisenaired its season 2 just a few weeks ago, featuring three major arcs. And here is a good news for fans who have been eagerly speculating for the next arc to be animated.

One of the most anticipated Shibuya Incident Arc begins on August 31st in Japan, which covers the events of July 06, 2025. But with the release it also comes with deaths of major characters you aren’t prepared to see die.

Shibuya Incident Arc Features Epic Supernatural Battles and Heartbreaking Deaths

AlthoughJujutsu Kaisenhas a fantastic sense of humor and and captivating personas, it also has its share of losses and heartbreaking moments which become more obvious with each successive arc.

Unlike the bright and cheerful themes in the first episode of season 2, the upcoming arc will be more dark and intense.

In the next arc, a sinister group of curse manipulators and cursed spirits initiate a coordinated attack on Shibuya, Tokyo, with the intention to seal away the most formidable Jujutsu sorcerer,Satoru Gojo.

The first significant fatality in the Shibuya Incident Arc is Kokichi Muta, better known by his alias Mechamaru. He is a sophomore at Kyoto Jujutsu High School. After being tortured ruthlessly, Mechamaru dies, regretting that he never got to say goodbye to his friends.

After that, during the Shibuya attack, Nanami fights valiantly against several enemies but meets his match against Mahito, the sinister cursed spirit. Mahito uses his Domain Expansion to overwhelm Nanami and subject him to a horrific death by deforming his body and tearing out his heart.

Nobara Kugisaki, the headstrong Jujutsu sorcerer from Tokyo Jujutsu High, suffers the third major loss in the Shibuya Incident Arc. After Nanami falls against Mahito, Nobara joins Yuji in attacking their mentor’s killer. But Mahito outmaneuvers her with his Soul Multiplicity technique, stabbing her eye and infecting her body with decaying cursed energy.

The deaths of Mechamaru, Nanami, and Nobara are all uniquely tragic and impactful. Nanami’s death also enrages Yuji and strengthens his resolve to destroy Mahito. Nabara’s tragic death robs the team of an invaluable ally and motivates Yuji to stop holding back against the forces of evil.

As the Shibuya Incident progresses, theJujutsu Kaisenstory will never be the same again. And it would be interstingly fun to watch how Itadori manage to fight without his mentor and comrades.
