As James Gunn and Peter Safran gear up for the much-needed reboot of the DC Studios, several projects are already lined up to grace the brand-new walkway of the DC Universe. With the rising popularity of the superhero movie genre and the exciting experience of building a new world for beloved DC characters, many celebrities have expressed particular interest in joining the colorful realm of the franchise.

Because the entire DC Universe is preparing for an overhaul, Gunn and Safran would look into launching their own version of Batman and hopefully get the chance to finally introduce one fan-favorite character on the big screen:Poison Ivy.

DC Studios Head James Gunn Debunks Rumors Of Poison Ivy Movie Following Katee Sackhoff’s Interest In The Role
The Mandalorianstar Katee Sackhoff is one huge aspirant for the coveted role of Pamela Ivy, more popularly known as Poison Ivy. Speaking withComicBookat the Megacon Orlando, the Bo-Katan Kryze actress expressed her enthusiasm to get the role:
“I can’t quite say that I would sell my firstborn, because she’s quite special to me [laughs]. But I would like sh*t twice and die to play Poison Ivy… And to work with Mike Flanagan again.”

She later praised the director, and further articulated her wish to collaborate with him again:
“He is such a genius and so collaborative. Working on Oculus was so much fun for me because he allowed me to talk about what I wanted to do with her [the character Marie Russell] I love bringing physicality to the roles that I play and horror is no different… And he was so all in.”

Sackhoff’s sentiments gave rise to rumors of aPoison Ivymovie as well as an appearance in Matt Reeves’The Batman 2. On Thursday, Gunn disproved these rumors on Twitter and responded with a single answer: “Nope.”

While this is quite disheartening to many fans, it does not mean there is no more opportunity for Poison Ivy, or Sackhoff, to make her big-screen debut. Besides, the character has not been in theaters sinceBatman & Robinin 1997.

Will The Robert Pattinson-LedBatmanFranchise Connect With DC’s Own Batman?
Matt Reeves’The Batmanfilm faced several delays due to the pandemic but ultimately premiered in theaters last March 2022. After Gunn’s revamp of the entire DC franchise, he revealed to fans that they need not wait too long because a sequel is now scheduled for a 2025 release.
The DC Universe will have its own Batman in the form ofBatman: The Brave and the Bold, and it will set a lighter tone far from Reeves’ dark and gritty version. Fans might be wondering if there will be some mutual understanding between the two Batman series. At this point, it seems that Robert Pattinson’s version is free to exercise creative freedom. This could also mean Poison Ivy has more chances of finally debuting on the big screen soon!
The Batman – Part IIis slated for release on July 09, 2025.
