While a Hulk Hogan biopic was actively being developed by Netflix per reports, which attached prominent names, includingJokerdirector Todd Philips as the director, the recent update on the project’s state is less than stellar.

Hulk Hogan Deemed His Stalled Biopic as Good asThe Godfather
With Netflix no longer behind the wheels of the biopic,Hulk Hoganstated that the project is still in the works, claiming the reason he chose to shift gears was because Netflix,“missed the date, as far as a business situation”. Further reflecting on the script for the film, which was developed by Scott Silver, the man responsible for 2019’sJoker, Hogan claimed that he was taken aback by Silver’s work. He even deemed the script in the same league as Francis Ford Coppola’sThe Godfatherand Brian De Palma’sScarface, some of the most influential works in film history.
Speaking withChris Van Vliet, he said,

“But yeah, the script came back, and it was amazing. I mean, because my favorite movies were like Scarface, The Godfather, True Romance. It was there, it was there. And I just went, whoa!”
Despite the Wrestling icon’s claims of the script being as great asThe Godfather, following his history of exaggerating stories, it’s reasonable to be a little skeptical about the matter.

Even though it can’t be said for sure if the biopic will ever see the end of the day or not, it’d be interesting to see if the possible movie would be able to touch the standard implied by Hogan.
