When Anne Hathaway almost killed her child at a park

Anne Hathawaytalked about the adventures in the New York City park with her then-one-year-old toddler, Jonathan, with Jimmy Fallon on his show. The actress recalled the mommy-and-me moment when she miscalculated their combined weight, sending them crashing to the ground.

When Hathaway took her child to a park, she noticed an unusual slide there. While explaining the slide, she said,

“I noticed all these other kids were coming down the slide. It looked like an unusual slide,’ she explained. ‘Like, maybe it was built before they had child safety measures in place. It was gorgeous and I noticed the kids weren’t going that fast so I said, “OK, I’ll bring Johnny on.”‘

Anne Hathaway, who fondly calls her first son Johny, went to the slide with him, and her decision to take her son ended badly. While sliding, speed increases in direct proportion to the amount of weight carried. Exactly the same happened with the mother-son duo. Further, she said,

“So we just go around the corner and instead of slowing down like the other kids we speed up,’ she explained. ‘It starts to go so fast and all the moms are watching and I’m so self-conscious. As it speeds up my thoughts slow down and I just look ahead and I get very serious and very focused and just think, “I must stick this landing.”

However, the actress was relieved that everything was okay, and they narrowly escaped the injury. Recalling the moment, she told Fallon,

“You know, when you almost killed your child, but you didn’t. In the inside you’re like, ‘Everything’s OK. Walk it off, walk it off”.

At that moment Hathaway panicked for a bit, but now she is lucky enough to be able to laugh it off.
