Jamie Campbell Bower, theCity Of Bonesactor who recently rose to fame due to his role as Vecna in the latest season ofStranger Thingsrecently opened up about how he lost a part inHarry Potterand the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Bower came forward in an interview with the podcast;Happy Sad Confusedby Josh Horowitz, and told his story of an unfortunate encounter with the casting directors of the movie, leading him to lose a spot in the franchise. Jamie Campbell Bower messed up the audition due to a joke which did not sit well with the casting directors of the movie.
Although he later managed to grab the role of a younger version of Grindelwald in the 2010 movieHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One,he returned to the role in the 2018 spin-off franchise ofThe Fantastic Beasts.

Jamie Campbell Bower Lost The Role
Jamie Campbell Bower, according to theIndependent, revealed in an interview that while trying out for a role in the franchise, Campbell, who was then a teenager, thought of cracking an inappropriate joke as a way of rapport formation with the directors.
He stated that he had only recently heard of a joke about a fairy and a Christmas tree.
He shared:
“I was a teenager and I had just heard this joke about a fairy, like, the reason why the fairy sits on top of the Christmas tree. And it’s a really, like, dirty joke, because it’s about the Christmas tree up somebody’s bottom.”
The Reaction Of The Directors
The actor said that he had learned why a fairy sits on top of a Christmas tree, focusing on the fact of how he found it amusing that there was a Christmas tree up someone’s bottom. As one would expect, the crowd in front of him was engulfed with a sense of awkwardness and confusion once presented with this joke.
Due to its inappropriate nature, Campbell lost his try of being part of a famous franchise early on.

Playing a younger version of the villain, he reviewed his past mistake as a teenager and took what he had first intended to find.
Through all of that, Jamie Campbell Bower has appeared in numerous fictional portrayals, such as playing Jace Herondale inThe City Of Bonesand Vecna inStranger Things.
