It always hurts when someone you love dearly departs from this world into the beyond. No matter how or when it happens, it isn’t easy. One such time for all the fans of the MCU was when we had to wipe our tears away as we heard the news of Chadwick Boseman, the star who played the role of T’Challa and the Black Panther in the MCU, passed away on 28th August 2020 in Los Angeles, California after a brave battle with colorectal cancer. Fans were devastated beyond belief, but as they say, the show must go on.

Then again, fans were left heartbroken after William Hurt, who played Colonel Thaddeus Ross in the MCU, passed away on 13th March 2022 due to suffering from prostate cancer.
After William Hurt’s passing, Marvel Studios decided to bring Harrison Ford to play Thaddeus Ross in the upcomingCaptain America: New World OrderAndThunderboltsmovie. But fans are asking questions, specifically about the whereabouts of an actor that can carry Chadwick Boseman’s legacy.

This news has brought about a wave of emotions in the MCU Fandom. people are happy to finally take a sigh of relief as they are relieved that the role of the iconic character is in capable hands. But, many are also quick to ask the most obvious question.

Where is the replacement for Chadwick Boseman?
As most of the fandom knows, the upcomingBlack Panther, Wakanda Foreverwill not have the king of Wakanda in action as Marvel Studios has not considered any replacements for Chadwick Boseman’s former character role so as to not embellish his legacy by either another actor’s face or using CGI to reconstruct his face. But after this news, fans are asking whether or not Colonel Ross is as important as Black Panther. And if he is, then where is Boseman’s replacement?
What Is Marvel’s Reasoning?
The exact reason why Chadwick Boseman has not been replaced by any other actor in the industry to play Black Panther is still unknown. Other than the aforementioned reasons, there is no other official statement made by Marvel Studios about their reasoning. Fans are not happy with this decision though. Many are demanding that either they bring a new face as the face of T’challa, or they want to recast Harrison Ford for someone else as Ford is 80 years old, which makes him a little aged to play a character in an action film franchise due to increased injury risk.
We will still wait and have to see what transpires with Harrison Ford’s inclusion into the MCU, but fans would still have to live with the fact that there may as well be no more Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther on the big screen.
