Ben Affleck Hated His First Outing As A Superhero
Ben Affleck’sdisdain forDaredevilruns deep. In a candid 2007 interview with Entertainment Weekly, he declared, “Daredevil didn’t work at all.” He admitted that if he aimed to stir up viral reactions, he’d express even stronger disapproval. Undeterred, he re-entered the superhero realm, taking on the iconic role of Bruce Wayne inSuicide SquadandBatman v Superman, yielding improved, though still somewhat lackluster, outcomes.
“If I wanted to go viral, I would be less polite,”Affleck said.

Daredevil was plagued by a turbulent narrative, lackluster character growth, and a disorienting tone. Moreover, the excessive reliance on CGI and the underwhelming action sequences drew criticism from some quarters.
On the same cinematic stage, Ben Affleck and his former spouse,Jennifer Garner, shared the spotlight in the movie. After his underwhelming rendition of Matt Murdock, supporters didn’t hold back their dissatisfaction with Affleck’s selection as Batman inBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Charlie Cox, the acclaimed star of Netflix’sDaredeviland famous for portraying Matt Murdock in the MCU, openly shared his candid thoughts on his predecessor, Ben Affleck. Speaking at the Middle East Film & Comic Con 2022 in Abu Dhabi, the 40-year-old actor admitted he wasn’t a fan of Affleck’s 2003 movie adaptation. Surprisingly, Cox revealed that he had not seen the MCU superhero film until after he was cast to play the same iconic role.
“I watched it once, and then I wanted to go and do my own thing. I hadn’t seen it before I got the role. I watched it when I got the role.”Charlie Cox stated.

Not entirely satisfied with his viewing experience of the 2003 film, Cox expressed a desire to introduce some alterations. Showing tact and sensitivity towards the Oscar-winning actor’s feelings, the actor acknowledged that Affleck portrayed a commendable Matt Murdock, stating, “I like his Matt Murdock.” However, while refraining from outright criticism of Affleck’s work of art, Cox candidly admitted that he didn’t have strong feelings about the film.
