Emma Stone Broke Down Following Her Rejection FromHeroes

In an interview withVanity Fair, Stone revealed the numerous times that she failed to bag a significant role left her feeling depressed and insecure about her future. One of the significant roles that she auditioned for, was in the blockbuster superhero seriesHeroes, in which she was vying for the part of the high school cheerleader Claire Bennet. The role ultimately went toHayden Panettiere, which left Stone absolutely devastated with the loss.
“I could hear that, in the other room, a girl had just gone in and they were saying, ‘You are our pick … On a scale of 1 to 10 you’re an 11’. I went home and just had this meltdown.”
WhileHeroesand Panettiere received a lot of acclaim, Emma Stone ensured that she played the waiting game to perfection by bouncing back from the loss to become one of Hollywood’s most desirable and bankable stars.

Emma Stone Dropped Out Of High School To Pursue Her Hollywood Dreams
Sometimes, the toughest decisions turn out to be the best ones, and Emma Stone is a prime example of that. The Oscar winner who began her career at a very young age, nurtured dreams of becoming a Hollywood star very early on in life. This desire ultimately led to theSuperbadactor quitting high school to make the move to Hollywood. Stone, who also had to make ends meet, took online classes while working part-time at a dog bakery.
While this decision to sacrifice education and pursue an acting career was a risky one which was questioned by many people, Stone confessed that she had no regrets. Speaking toVanity Fair, theLa La Landactor spoke of how fate beautifully intervened to point her in the right direction.
“I did Superbad in what would’ve been my senior year. I was playing a senior, and had I graduated I would’ve missed that opportunity, and had I missed that opportunity I wouldn’t be here right now.”
As it turned out, Emma Stone was spot on with her instincts regarding her career path. With a film trajectory that is only going upwards, the actor has proved that she has what it takes to sustain a career in Hollywood.
