In December 2017,Salma Hayekspoke out about the repeated sexual advances and attempted sexual assault made by Harvey Weinstein. The actress recounted to The New York Times that she consistently rejected Weinstein’s requests, including declining to shower with him, letting him watch her shower, and receiving massages from him or his associates.
She turned down all his requests by saying,“No to me taking a shower with him. No to letting him watch me take a shower. No to letting him give me a massage. No to letting a nked friend of his give me a massage. No to letting him give me oral sx. No to my getting n*ked with another woman. No, no, no, no, no…And with every refusal came Harvey’s Machiavellian rage.”
During a recent interview with The Guardian, Salma Hayek shared that the two collaborated on Hayek’s passion project,Frida, a biographical drama directed by Julie Taymor chronicling the life of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Despite the film’s success and Hayek’s Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, Weinstein’s bullying tactics throughout the movie’s development, filming, and release profoundly impacted her professional life.

Harvey Weinstein Pushed Salma Hayek To Film N*de Scenes
In her interview with The New York Times, Salma Hayek also revealed that Harvey Weinstein had attempted to shut downFridaunless she agreed to include a full-frontal nude scene in the film.
“When he would call me up [during the making of ‘Frida’] and scream, ‘Why do you have a [monobrow] and mustache? I didn’t hire you to look ugly!’ I was like, ‘But didn’t you ever look at a picture of Frida Kahlo?’ If a man was playing Cyrano de Bergerac, he wouldn’t say, ‘What’s with the nose?'”
During a podcast interview, Salma Hayek discussed the role of sex appeal in her career, revealing that she initially had to utilize it as a protective tool. In the early stages of her career, she recognized the potential value of sex appeal and harnessed it to safeguard her interests.
