It is hard to imagine anyone other thanScarlett Johanssonplaying the iconic and swashbuckling Black Widow in the MCU. TheVicky Christina Barcelonaactor who first portrayed the character in 2010’sIron Man 2, had no expectations about how she would be received by audiences. Johansson, in a candid confession that appeared in the book,MCU – The Reign of Marvel Studios, spoke of not feeling worthy of the character initially, while also having doubts about the influence she would have on the narrative.

“I didn’t feel like I owned that suit until the first Avengers. I didn’t know how people would react to me in that role, if they would accept me as the character.”
