The late superstar Chadwick Boseman is celebrated for his incredible performances on the screen, one of which also includes the role of the Marvel superhero Black Panther. The actor made his MCU debut with the 2016 filmCaptain America: Civil War,starring alongside the Marvel stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. He went on to reprise his Marvel role in several movies under the franchise following his debut.

During the promotion of one of his Marvel movies, the actor was asked if he took anything from the sets as a remembrance of his movie and role. And like his co-stars, Boseman also shared the one item from his Marvel character that he decided to keep with him.

Chadwick Boseman Kept Black Panther’s Kimoyo Beads
After making his debut withCaptain America: Civil Warand starring in a blockbuster Oscar-winning solo movie,Chadwick Bosemanjoined the ensemble cast ofAvengers: Infinity War. While promoting the movie alongside his co-stars, includingChris Hemsworth,Karen Gillan,Josh Brolin, andSebastian Stan, the actor was asked if he had any remembrances from the movie set.
He shared that he took the Kimoyo beads from Marvel sets.“I kept the beads, the Kimoyo beads. I have them on right now,”he said during a conversation withJimmy Kimmelon his talk show. Kimoyo beads are one of the most impressive Wakandan technologies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that appear to have unlimited uses.

The beads are used to project a holographic image, and Shuri’s constant updates make it even more advanced as she uses it to remote pilot a random car in Busan from her lab and is also used by T’Challa in a later scene to stabilize the Everett Ross’ wound. The beads are also extremely attractive, and it doesn’t come as a surprise that theBlack Pantherstar decided to keep it with him as a memento of his time as the Marvel superhero.

Black PantherStar Honors Chadwick Boseman
Chadwick Boseman passed away on July 24, 2025, from colon cancer. The actor was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 and never discussed the diagnosis publicly. On the three-year anniversary of his passing, hisBlack Pantherco-star, Lupita Nyong’o, honored the actor as she shared a tribute to her late co-star.
“Three years ago today, I experienced a singular pain at the news of Chadwick Boseman’s death,”she shared. Nyong’o also shared Boseman’s snap she took at the airport when they visited South Korea in 2018.“We had just learned to do the baby heart with our fingers. Here Chadwick was adding his suave flare,”she further mentioned in herInstagrampost.
