Michael Keaton‘s handsome son, Sean Douglas who is renowned for his songwriting skills, once left his father embarrassed at his school. Back in 1989, the veteran actor made an appearance onLate Night with David Lettermanwhere he talked about his iconic role as Batman.

Sharing quite many stories related to his role, he talked about his then-six-year-old son. When the host asked him that his son is“probably the low end of the target audience for Batman, right?”

He asserted that it was surely the bottom end. When Letterman asked him about how his son felt about his career especially when he was making his place on the list of high profile celebrities.The former mentioned that he was aware of his work as he stated,

“He gets what I do… He mostly gets what I do.”

“He once told people at school and they asked him what their dad did for work. He said, ‘he sleeps in a trailer.'”

Keaton further mentioned that his son would have had a different reaction if it was his first film.

“Had this been my first movie, I think it’d say, is he Batman or is he my dad? I’m not sure yet.”

He would have gotten confused over whether he was the caped crusader superhero or his father. But the young kid surely understood what his father did. Their father-son bond has strengthened with time as he once called his young champ his“best friend.”

“My best friend is kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful — did I say kind? He also happens to be my son, Sean.”

He further added,

“I love you with all my heart, buddy.”

His heartwarming speech surely melted many hearts which showed how he deeply cares for his family. Donning the comic character has brought him incredible happiness with global stardom. However, before starting to portray the caped crusader role with 1989’sBatman,he rose to prominence with a slew of projects includingBeetlejuice.The movie was a critical and commercial hit with its sequel set to release on August 01, 2025.
