What Made Denis Villeneuve Cast Timothée Chalamet?
WhenDenis Villeneuveopened up about working withTimothée Chalamet, he could not stop gushing over how wonderful of an actor he is. While conversing withJames Cameronin an interview withVariety, the director explained just what brought him towards the actor.
“He was my only choice in my mind for several reasons. First of all because of his acting chops. I mean that he’s a really solid, young actor. He has a old soul, he’s very mature. At the same time he looks tremendously young on screen. Paul Atreides is supposed in the book to be sixteen years old or something like that. So I needed someone who looked like an old teenager who is about to become a man.”
