Based on insider info, the new season will have weekly/monthly map changes based on map locations from the first chapter. Get ready to once again interact with POIs like Wailing Woods and Loot Lake. And, if you’re feeling ‘sweaty’ enough, Tilted Towers will likely be part of the hot drop locations.
Furthermore, the entire season will try and combine modernFortnite Battle Royalemechanics with more familiar weapons and items from previous Chapters. You’ll be able to sprint and mantle, which have been a prominent part of the game ever sinceZero Buildmodes made their way to the game, as well as find familiar variants of Assault Rifles and Shotguns from older seasons. Epic is making an attempt at merging these two generations of gameplay mechanics into one, and that’s whatFortniteOGis all about.

While there’s no official information regarding the game’s lore, players can expect to see references to the older seasons inFortniteOG.

How Epic Games Is Hyping up the Nostalgic Callback to Fortnite’s Early Days
Streamers and creators (who also happen to be long-time Fortnite players) have been receiving a cryptic package from Epic Games. The kit contains a message that goes, ‘WHERE WE DROPPIN’?’ along with a few lines from the creators of Fortnite themselves:
Thank you for supporting us from the beginning and for being part of the origins of Fortnite. Now you have the chance to start again. Only one question left: Where do we fall?

Creators like Dr Disrespect and TimTheTatman have been reacting to their own gameplay from back inFortnite Battle Royale’searly days. The package is a gesture of appreciation by the creators ofFortniteand includes items like a vinyl record that plays music quite similar to the original lobby music, and a detailed ‘OG’ dog tag. The kit also contains a set of gold variant OG pins from Chapter 1 Season X.
Season X was similar to whatFortniteOGis going to be. It was a callback to earlier seasons, and the Battle Pass cosmetics along with a few gameplay changes brought back memories fromFortnite’searlier seasons. We can expect to witness another Battle Pass which will be along those lines.
This was teased by Epic earlier when they released a loading screen called, ‘Within The Sanctum’. On this screen, you can spot the date July 25, 2025. This is crucial info regarding the next season’s return to the game’s roots, as this date is whenFortnite Battle Royale’sexistence was evolving into what it is today.
Considering howZero Buildmode’s popularity brought in a lot of new players, the rumours around the removal of essential mechanics like sprinting and mantling are simply not true. Instead, the gameplay will focus on exploring the original map in a new way. Something that has the potential to bring back older players as well as give new players a chance to experience Epic Games’ original vision for theFortnite Battle Royale.
