James Mangold is bringing back Harrison Ford in one of his most iconic characters with the Indy-style action,Indiana Jones 5. As Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has stated that they will not make anIndiana Jonesfilm without its lead star, it is expected to be the last film under the franchise. The fifth installment in the franchise came into development after James Mangold took over the project followed by Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilms.

A report from Puck claims thatHarrison Ford’slast run asIndiana Jonescould lag behind its rivals. The trailer forIndiana Jones 5was released at Brazil Comic Con in December 2022. Along with this, Marvel Studios released the trailer forGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3and Paramount released the trailer forTransformers: Rise of the Beasts.

The report from Puck reveals the views all three trailers have received across different social media platforms till now.Rise of the Beastsis ahead by racking over 506 million views followed byGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3and theDial of Destinylacks behind with 79 million views.

While trailers ofTransformers: Rise of the BeastsandGuardians of the Galaxy Vol 3have garnered over 25 million views on Youtube,Indiana Jones 5trailer has only managed to gain 10.8 million views.

The report also pointed out Stephen Spielberg’s absence as director and the lead star being almost 80 while shooting the film. According to the Puck report,Indiana Jones 5could be at disadvantage due to these factors.

However, the director does not agree with the opinion as he took upon the responsibility to defend the film on social media.

While there are a number of people who believe thatIndiana Jones 5would not be as good as the previous films in the franchise, James Mangold believes that he did his best in his upcoming film. He has been defending the film against trolls on social media.

When one Twitter user pointed out whyIndiana Jones 5would not be a good film, the director was quick to respond. The user claimed that the film might not be as good as fans expect it to be because Stephen Spielberg is not directing the film, Harrison Ford is 78 years old, and Jonathan Kasdan is the writer of the film.

Mangold called out the user saying,“Keep making the world a better place crapping on things in the 1st week of production from your basement.”He further added that Jonathan Kasdan is not the writer of the film and that having talents like Spielberg and Ford can never be bad for the film. The director’s behavior has also raised fans’ concerns over the film.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinyis set to release on 05 June 2025.
