He tested positive for using, possessing, and distributing illicit drugs. Due to this, he had to spend six months in prison as well as pay a fine. Also, his father had to give an embarrassing apology. Chan said:
“I hope young people will take a lesson from Zuming (Jaycee) and stay away from drugs. I failed to be a good father and I deserve the blame. I will take the responsibility and apologize to [the] public on behalf of Jaycee.”

Jaycee too gave a grovelling statement in court where he said that he felt ashamed for what he had done. The son of the famous star said:
“I have broken the law and should be punished. When I return to society, I will not repeat this because I have let my family and friends down yet again.”

The reason why Jackie Chan had to give a public apology on behalf of his son even though he hadn’t done anything was because he was appointed as the Narcotics Control Ambassador in the year 2009. So the possession of drugs by his son was an embarrassing incident not just for him but also for law enforcement.
