Elizabeth Olsen Is Proud of What She Has Made With Scarlet Witch in the MCU
Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch has had one of the most compelling and emotionally cathartic arcs in the MCU. WithWandaVisionandDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,the character was pushed to her most extreme and Olsen portrayed the vulnerable side of such a powerful character with so much emotion and grace.
She talked about how proud she is about her character’s arc in the MCU and revealed that even if she was fired from Marvel now, she would be incredibly satisfied with what she’s achieved with the character. She toldVariety,
“No, I don’t. I think it’s been almost 10 years of playing her. And I’ve loved it. And I think the reason why I am not calling Kevin Feige every day with ideas is because I’m really proud of what we were able to do. I think WandaVision was a really surprising opportunity.
If someone were to tell me that I’m fired from Marvel movies, I will feel proud of what we made. And I really am just trying to figure out how to load up other films and characters so it becomes less about the Marvel of it all.”
It remains to be seen whether Marvel beings back the Olsen and the character in future MCU films. For now, the character is presumed dead after the events ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.Even Olsen has no idea whether she’ll be coming back to the franchise.
