Dragon Ball Superfollows the events of our beloved Z Warriors afterDragon Ball Z. It began airing in 2015 and went on a hiatus in 2018 after the Tournament of Power arc. The anime was well-received by the fans, and the nostalgic hit with the new transformations is always appreciated. Initially, it was written by Toyotarou, but later, Akira Toriyama joined him.
Even though the anime went on a hiatus, theDragon Ball Supermanga has been going on a full flow. With more powerful villains and awesome new transformations, it still keeps on delivering after three decades. But one thing that has annoyed the fans is that Piccolo, an intellectual character, is slowly being made into a more comical character, making him less knowledgeable.
Piccolo InDragon Ball SuperIs Being Turned Into A Comical Character
Piccolo was first introduced inDragon Ballas the protagonist. But inDragon Ball Z, he overcame his evil ways and became a member of the Z Warriors. Even though he was always surpassed by the Saiyans in terms of power, his intellect proved to be a valuable asset for them in dire situations. For people who were not able to understand any situation, Piccolo would make them understand with his knowledge.

Since Piccolo became so underpowered,Dragon Ball Supermanga gave him a new transformation, Orange Piccolo. In this form, his color changes to orange, and he becomes more muscular and gains a massive power-up. It was made canon in the Dragon Ball timeline. While this was a much-needed power-up for Piccolo, it came at a cost.
During the fight with Cell Max, Gamma 2 ripped one of his arms and fell unconscious. Cell Max was going to stomp him but Piccolo came and held Cell Max’s foot. It was becoming difficult for him since he was quite small compared to Cell Max. Almost at the point of getting overpowered, Krillin reminded him using his Great Namekian Form fromDragon Ball’s Tenkaichi Tournament. Then Orange Piccolo transforms into his old giant self.
This incident has raised a big question in the fans’ minds that Piccolo, being such a knowledgeable character, forgot his own abilities and had to be reminded of them. After Krillin reminded him of his Great Namekian Form, he apologized to him and said that he had forgotten about them.

Other Incidences Of Piccolo Losing His Intellect
The incident with Cell Max is not the only one when he loses his intellect. Previously, inDragon Ball Supermanga chapter 93, he and Bulma summoned Shenron. Instead of asking the dragon to bring back Goku and Vegeta to Earth, Bulma asked for cosmetics. After Shenron fulfills the wish, Piccolo says to Bulma that she should have asked for the necessary things instead of beauty products. Bulma also pointed out that Piccolo forgot about asking to bring back Goku and Vegeta.
This has led to the question of whether transforming into Orange Piccolo might cost him his intellect. Orange Piccolo is a great transformation and is no doubt loved by the fans. But they also want back the old Piccolo, who was smart enough to properly analyze the situation before taking any steps. Piccolo took Master Roshi’s place as a knowledgeable guy. He was the only one with that ability, while most of the others were goofballs. So, milking him too much might be bad for the franchise.
