Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the highly anticipated sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, has finally hit theaters, igniting excitement among fans. This eagerly awaited installment in the Spider-Verse saga promises another exhilarating animated adventure, introducing a delightful array of new characters.Joining the animated movie are esteemed actors like Jason Schwartzman (portraying the Spot), Oscar Isaac (as Miguel O’Hara), Issa Rae (as Jessica Drew), Karan Soni (as Spider-Man India), and Daniel Kaluuya (as Spider-Punk).The film also reunites a talented ensemble, featuring Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker.

The film has achieved a remarkable opening day at the box office, propelled by Oscar Isaac’s captivating portrayal and the enchanting allure of the story. However, it has been revealed that that the lead villain in the movie received was paid almost one and a half times less compared to that of most supporting actors in the movie. Jason Schwartzman’s Salary Was Less Than Most Supporting Actors
Jason Schwartzman took on a new Marvel role as he lent his voice to the main antagonist, The Spot, in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film reveals that The Spot was previously a scientist employed at Alchemax and associated with the Kingpin during the events of the first installment. In the 2018 movie, the character Jonathan Ohn, portrayed by Schwartzman, found himself caught in the explosion caused by the destruction of the super-collider, resulting in his transformation into an interdimensional villain.
Interestingly, Schwartzman’s portrayal of Jonathan Ohn also earned him the nickname “The Bagel Guy” among the fans. This playful moniker originated from a scene where Miles Morales, the film’s protagonist, threw a bagel at the character during their escape from Alchemax.

Despite the significance of his character’s role, Schwartzman received a comparatively modest compensation of $270k for his voice acting. In contrast, bothDaniel Kaluuya, who portrayed Spider-Punk, and Issa Rae, who portrayed Spider-Woman, were offered a substantial sum of $400k each for their contributions to the movie which is 1.5 times higher than that of Schwartzman.
The difference in compensation among these talented actors is noteworthy, particularly considering Schwartzman’s portrayal of an integral character in the story.

In the Marvel Comics universe, Jonathan Ohn, also known as The Spot, was initially a scientist employed by the Kingpin. Following unsuccessful attempts to replicate the powers of the superhero Cloak, Ohn underwent a transformation, granting him the ability to create interdimensional and smaller-scale portals.
In the highly anticipated film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it was revealed that The Spot was once a scientist at Alchemax who worked under the Kingpin during the events of the first movie. During the climactic sequence of the 2018 film, Ohn found himself caught in the explosion of the super-collider, a result of Miles Morales and his fellow Spider-Men’s efforts to destroy it. This incident led to his transformation into a formidable interdimensional villain.

Furthermore, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse showcased The Spot’s resentment towards Miles for his involvement in the villain’s descent. After a brief yet significant initial encounter, The Spot formulated a plan to traverse the Multiverse in search of another super-collider, aiming to augment his already considerable powers. To his success, he located the super-collider of Earth-50101, the universe where Spider-Man India resides.

As a result of his transformation, The Spot evolved into a being composed of pure dark energy, wielding the ability to obliterate entire dimensions.
