The traditional ‘bad-boy character who used to be one of the strongest in the series was written off unceremoniously inChapter 236.Furious fans gave death threats to mangaka Gege Akutami and are now doing their utmost to show respect to the deceased character.

Gojo’s death was a controversial decision on Akutami’s part. Previously, he had given clear hints that he didn’t like the god-complex of the character. The strongest sorcerer was subsequently killed in the most absurd fashion: Sukuna’s ‘Dismantle’ technique slashed his body in half and almost confirming his death was the villain’s words “I won’t forget you as long as I live.”
WhileJJKfans petition to bring back Gojo, they have also come up with a surreal way to pay homage to the fictional character’s ‘limitless and ‘space-distorting’ powers.
Jujutsu KaisenFans Bought and Named a Star After Satoru Gojo
Chapter 236was released on July 25, 2025. Following Satoru Gojo’s unceremonious death, which hasn’t been fully confirmed byJujutsu Kaisen, fans rushed in to pay homage. One Reddit user claimed that a fan bought a star and named it after the character. The registration date was dated on September 21 and the picture also showed a registration number.
However, there is actually no star named after Satoru Gojo fromJujutsu Kaisen.The aforementioned image is from a mobile application called ‘Night Sky Guide – Planetarium.’ While using the app, users can explore the space and even name celestial bodies. Another reason that confirms that the information is invalid is the registration date, September 21, which is prior to the release ofChapter 236.
NASA has not officially registered a star under the name of Gojo Satoru, else it would’ve led to massive debates in the anime as well as space community. The effort shown by theJujutsu Kaisenfan is appreciated nonetheless. The fact that a baseless rumor was taken at face value byJJKfans shows how attached they still are to Gojo’s character, 14 days after he was written off.

Why Is Satoru Gojo So Popular?
A combination of ‘god-like’ powers and a hilarious personality makes Gojo a favorite ofJujutsu Kaisenfans. He acts as a mentor for Tokyo Jujutsu High students and the self-made strongest in the world bestows his wisdom on characters like Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori.
According to a few fans, his arrogant teaching style is actually a method to hardwire his students for future psychological and physical challenges.
Not only is Gojo a natural trainer but also the first character inJJKto simultaneously possess the powers of ‘Limitless’ and ‘Six Eyes.’ This made him levels ahead of any other character so his death at the hands of Sukuna was a bitter pill to swallow.
Limitless allowed Satoru Gojo to distort and manipulate space at will, thus allowing him teleportation powers that were complemented by strong defensive force field powers.
Meanwhile, the Six Eyes is a rare technique that is inherited by only a few members of the Gojo clan. It powers the ‘Limitless’ technique and cannot be destroyed, acting as a passive power that makes the character more unique than ever. Jujutsu Kaisen mentioned that Satoru Gojo is the first person in 100 years to have both theLimitlessandSix Eyespowers, along with other sorcerer skills.
