Rocksteady Studios’ critically acclaimedBatman: Arkhamtrilogy is making its way to the Nintendo Switch family of systems this Fall, as announced in today’s packed Nintendo Direct. This meaty combo pack will include all three entries in the beloved superhero game trilogy,Arkham Asylum,Arkham City, andArkham Knightas well as all of the DLC released for those games. No specific release date is available at this time, though it likely will not be too long until we get one since it is currently marked for Fall.

Just like Batman, you’ll be able to see the Bat signal from anywhere on Nintendo Switch.

Notably absent from the collection isBatman: Arkham Origins. This is unlikely to be surprising to many fans of the series, however.Arkham Originsreceived notably less positive feedback than the other games in the series and is the only one not to be developed by Rocksteady Studios. It was heavily criticized at launch for a swath of technical issues and for generally being less fun than its predecessors. It has also never been ported to other platforms such as Xbox One or PlayStation 4 nor included in similarBatman: Arkhamcollections on those platforms.

Be Batman Anywhere You Go

Fine print at the end of the trailer notes that these Nintendo Switch ports are being handled by Turn Me Up Games. This is not their first rodeo porting major titles to the Switch. They previously handled the Switch version ofBorderlands: The Legendary Collection, as well as the quirky space gameJourney to the Savage Planet. They have done remarkably well with the constraints of the Switch hardware in the past, allowing theBorderlandsgames to maintain their full texture quality and a steady 30fps framerate.

TheBatman: Arkhamgames have been praised for their take on an experienced Batman who has already seen most of his rogue’s gallery put away, now reckoning with the fallout of all of his crime-fighting. The combat system in particular has often been lauded as the be some of the best hand-to-hand combat in any video game series, superhero or otherwise.

Glide throughout Gotham as Batman in this incredible trilogy.

The trilogy features some of the most acclaimed voice work for the late Kevin Conroy, often cited as the best Batman voice over the years after getting his start with fellowBatman: Arkhamactor Mark Hamil inBatman: The Animated Series, both reprising their roles as Batman and The Joker respectively in this trilogy, although the original cartoon is not itself canon to the events of this trilogy,

Today’s Nintendo Direct was chock-full of upcoming releases for the high-selling system, including a new 2DMario, a newDragon Quest, a sequel to theDetective Pikachugame, aMetal Gear Solidcollection, and a remake ofSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Switch owners will have no shortage of excellent games to play this year, especially with theArkhamtrilogy thrown in the mix.
