Austrian Bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger has established himself as a Hollywood legend over 5 decades of his career. However, that is not the only thing he is famous for.
Along with unprecedented success, headlining some of the greatest hits of Hollywood and worldwide fame came a life of public scandals – the likes of which not only shocked his fans across the globe but also ended up breaking his 25-year marriage to Maria Shriver.
However, although the reason behind their divorce was none other than Schwarzenegger cheating on Shriver throughout their marriage, it seems at one point he had to beg her to marry him even after years of dating.

In the tell-all three-part series, Schwarzenegger is apparently going to reveal secrets about his life that have long been kept under wraps. As Netflix noted Arnold Schwarzenegger will be,“the orator of his own story.”
As a result, people are wondering if this show will finally put to rest the rumors aboutThe Terminatorstar’s numerous extramarital affairs, open relationships, and even his present relationship with physical therapist Heather Milligan.
He had long confirmed an open relationship with hairdresser Sue Moray after his 6-year-long relationship with Barbara Outland ended under the pressure of his blooming Bodybuilding career.
In fact, it is while being involved with Moray, that he met former United States President John F. Kennedy’s niece Maria Shriver. The couple after dating for several years tied the knot in August of 1986.
However, it seems, their marriage had problems even before it began, as Arnold Schwarzenegger quite literally had to beg the journalist for her hand twice before she agreed to marry him.

Arnold Schwarzenegger begged Maria Shriver for marriage before cheating on her
Arnold Schwarzenegger met Maria Shriver while his career was taking off. However, he was so smitten with her that he invested his all into their relationship even at that time.
This led to them getting married in 1986 after Schwarzenegger proposed to her on two separate occasions, only to be turned down. However, it seems that things might not have been as blissful as they seemed between them initially.
Their relationship was hounded by rumors of theTrue Liesstar cheating on her repeatedly in the 80s while he was filming forThe TerminatorandConan the Barbarian. In fact, right before their marriage, Schwarzenegger was linked with his 1985Red Sonjaco-star, Brigitte Nielsen.
The former Mr. Olympia even confirmed this affair in an interview in 2012. Interestingly, this was the second affair he ever confirmed although there have been rumors of countless others.
The other one he confirmed, though, was the one that broke his 25-year marriage with Maria Shriver. In the mid-90s, he had an affair with the Schwarzenegger family housekeeper Mildred Baena, which led her to fall pregnant in 1996.
Curiously, her son, Joseph Baena, was born exactly 5 days after Shriver and Schwarzenegger’s youngest Christopher Schwarzenegger, although, at that time, no one was aware of the connection.

After the connection was publicized in 2010, Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed it the following year. That was what became the tipping point in their relationship and made Maria Shriver finally file for divorce.
Although the pair remained separated, their divorce was only finalized almost a decade later in 2021. While Arnold Schwarzenegger had long since moved on with Heather Milligan who is 28 years his junior, Maria Shriver had allegedly remained single.
