The Ackerman Clan inAttack on Titan
The Ackerman Clan was an Eldian clan that resided within the walls. In the past, they served as a line of warriors that defended Eldia’s King for a long time. However, there were just two surviving members left at the end of the series. The members of the clan shown in the series have demonstrated an awakened power that belongs only to the Ackermans.
It allows the Ackermans to demonstrate physical abilities far beyond those of the typical human, and Levi Ackerman characterizes it as knowing precisely what needs to be done. They do not need to inherit any of the Nine Titans or turn into Titans to manifest the power of the Titans as humans.

Upon awakening, the targeted Ackerman receives the cumulative combat experience of all Ackerman who have come before them. They were not susceptible to the memory-altering powers of the Founding Titan. This specific ability almost drove the entire clan to extinction.

Ackerman’s Ability Led Them to Their Extinction
The Eldian Empire’s experiments with the Subjects of Ymir and Titan science led to the unintentional creation of the Ackerman clan. As the monarchy’s right hand and guardian angels, they were then given the duty to defend Eldia’s monarch and ensure the survival of their kind. However, one of their skills proved to be the cause of their demise.
The Ackerman clan was immune to the command of the Founding Titan, unlike the other people of Eldia. After losing the Great Titan war King Fritz decided to relocate to the Paradis island inside the Walls that he built for the Eldians to live in. The King decided to wipe out all the memory of the Eldians with the Founding Titan.

The Ackermans were immune to the King’s use of the Founding Titan’s power to erase the memories of everyone inside. The King hunted them down, believing he would not be able to keep them under control, almost driving the clan extinct. Ultimately, the chief of the Ackerman family sacrificed his own life to preserve the lineage and was put to death.
