Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomis the last entry in the grand scheme of the DC Extended Universe. Starring Jason Momoa, the film will be the last before we get James Gunn’sSuperman: Legacy, which will mark the beginning of a new era for Detective Comics’ cinematic ventures.
However, as has become the norm, fans have spotted some key details of the story within the trailer of the film, and this might have spoiled a major reveal in the story that could potentially lead to tragic consequences for Arthur Curry.

Aquaman might face an all too familiar betrayal.
As the trailer showed Orm and Arthur teaming up to recuse Arthur’s son from Black Manta, fans have spotted an important detail in recent footage revealed from the trailer. This easter egg, if proven to be accurately depicting what fans have been theorizing, could mean the Arthur falls head first into a trap by being too trusting.

X (formerelly Twitter) user@RON1NSenjufigured out that Orm is handling the Black Trident as Jason Momoa’a Arthur Curry struggles to breathe. This has led to the speculation that Orm turning on his half brother, and teaming up with Manta. Given that Orm’s end goal is simply taking the throne of Atalantis (and subsequently waging war agains the surface world). it would make complete sense that the former monarch ofthe seven seas will take adavantage of Black Manta’s short term goals and try to take over the seven seas and the world.

And So, the DCEU comes to a close
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomwill be the last film in what is conisdered the DC Extended Universe. The franchise was due to start in 2011 withGreen Lantern, failing which the first movie to start the franchise became Zack Snyder’sMan of Steel. After a slew of badly recieved films and critical reviews, the DCEU went throught mutiple changes in leadership, each with wildly different takes on the franchise. The franchise had it’s duds (likeJustice LeagueandSuicide Squad), but it also had it’s ups (like Zack Snyder’sJustice LeagueandThe Suicide Squad), but ulitmately, WB decided to scrap the whole thing and start over.
Aquaman will mark the last film to be the part of the DCEU, bringing a decade’s worth of characters and storylines to a close (the best it can). WIth multiple actors no longer attached to the franchisem it is as if the last decade or so was a cruel experiment in fracnhise fimmmaking. However, under James Gunn’s fresh leadership, WB is giving a shared superhero cinematic universe a second shot.Superman: Legacyis set to premiere in 2025 opening the first chapter of a new DC Cinematic Universe, titledGods and Monsters.
