Almost every enemy you encounter in Black Myth: Wukong is a Yaoguai. Some of these Yaoguais have a special name and a health counter at the bottom. They are generally considered to be Yaoguai Bosses. Some of these bosses are optional and locked behind secret or hidden quests. Others, you will encounter as part of the game’s natural progression.

Yaoguai Bosses are divided into two types – Yaoguai Chiefs and Yaoguai Kings, with the latter being considerably more powerful and less in number.  In this article, we will list all the Yaoguai Chiefs and Yaoguai Kings that you will come across in Black Myth: Wukong.

There are 55 Yaoguai Chiefs in Black Myth: Wukong. Here’s an overview.

Black Cloud, Red Fire (Chapter 1) Yaoguai Chiefs:

Yellow Sand, Desolate Dusk (Chapter 2) Yaoguai Chiefs:

White Snow, Ice Cold (Chapter 3) Yaoguai Chiefs:

Rosy Cheeks, Gray Hair (Chapter 4) Yaoguai Chiefs:

*You do not fight these bosses, but you encounter them in Chapter 4’s Finale against the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master.

Golden Child, Crimson Blood (Chapter 5) Yaoguai Chiefs:

You will also encounter the Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai in Chapter 5. This boss is not listed under the Yaoguai Chief or Yaoguai King category in Black Myth: Wukong. However, the fight he offers is similar to that of a Yaoguai Chief.

These supposed Yaoguai Kings are also some of the toughest bosses in Black Myth: Wukong. The Yaoguai Kings are essentially the major bosses in the game. Every enemy that has a named healthbar is categorized as a Yaoguai King. Furthermore, some of the non-hostile NPCs such as the Giant Shigandang are also classified as Yaoguai Kings.
